Using Developmentally Supportive Practices During Routine and Emergency Procedures for Preterm Infants is a multimedia training CD ROM that includes video, photos, text, and audio. Evidence supporting the effects of pain on preterm infants is provided through documentation of research findings in relevant literature. The CD ROM describes the use of non-pharmacologic interventions for painful procedures for preterm infants impact of the NICU environment on the preterm infant. Video demonstrations of supportive practices are shown during procedures such as xrays/ultrasounds/echocardiogram, heelstick, feeding tube placement, endotracheal suction, venipuncture, resuscitation, preterm infant delivery, and more.
